Phase Two Status: COMPLETE

Yes, that's right folks, we're ONE WHOLE PART CLOSER TO THE END OF THE 2012 LeNERD BEDROOM REDESIGNING!!!!! (That's fun to spell)
After a full day at IKEA and Walmart, we have reached our $100 budget for the redesigning. Behold:

These lovely bed coverings (black mattress cover for the bottom mattress, pink for the top one plus pink sheets, letter-y comforter cover and FUZZY GREEN THROW!!!! Also a crazy big assortment of pillowcases.)....
This utterly amazing colorful lamp...
4 corkboard squares, a calender whiteboard and a magnet board whose pictures refused to turn out...
AND THESE WOOKING AMAZING STAR WARS COLLECTER CARDS!!!!! Yayyy aw!!! We actually got three of these lovely little tins (one for me, one for the Youngling and one to Mod Podge on a wall or something), which each contain a pack of the most memorable ESB scenes and a pack of international Star Wars movie posters, all little-itized onto these cute little cards. The movie posters truly are awesome:
Hungary...
Spain...
Germany...
Japan...
and China.
Plus this cool abstracty USA one. Star Wars, will you never cease to amaze me?
We also painted those mismatchy dressers and attempted to paint the equally mismatchy bookshelves, but only the dressers turned out. They now match the future color of my room (i.e. cottage white) so they will kinda look like built ins, as will the bookshelves once we find good ones at IKEA.
On a separate note, the end of school is now two weeks closer! :D Okay, actually it's not that bad. My teachers, upon further inspection, are all better than mediocre and I found Pony's locker (yay for stalkerism!) with the help of his adoring, ah, fan, Cherry (who is also my friend, so I guess I won't go too in depth with that drama). My utterly least favorite class ever, gym, got actually tolerable this week, too. Since there's only like twelve boys in our gym hour, we switched classes so that it's now two all girl classes and one all guy class. And this is brilliant in every possible way. Having just girls means we have luxuries such as
  • Yoga
  • No football
  • Kickboxing
  • Nature walk (not quite sure what that is...)
HALLELUJAH!!!!
Lastly, my church's Youth Group kicks off tonight with our annual bonfire, which I am attending with Squid, Cherry and my lovely faux leather jacket that, according to the Youngling, makes me look like a Harley Davidson dude. I made some homemade (a.k.a. Bettie Crocker mix) brownies with a gourmet icing (a.k.a powdered sugar dumped in cool little lumps in various places). I'm sure they'll amaze. (Shhh... as far as anyone knows, they're homemade. And also fancy.)

Middle School

(Scary title, huh?)
First of all, my deepest apologies for being slightly M.I.A. for the past two days. As it happens, Juju (my cousin), who has been dwelling in Costa Rica, recently appeared here in Minnesota without telling me, so there's my excuse.
Today was the first day of school, as it was for probably about 80% of you alls. As I discovered this morning, my stomach has apparently taken up gymnastics and was utterly spazzing out before school, but fortunately I refrained from puking. Yay for nonpuking.
For the most part, it was a good first day. It was a bit dull, considering that every dang class was pretty much the same thing (i.e. All About Me sheets, course descriptions, yadda yadda.) I didn't really get to know my teachers, but from the limitedness that I saw, they're all pretty (at lack of a better word) good. I have a few friends in my classes, which is also a positive thing, and the many course descriptions I've read today all make my classes sound mediocre, if not better.
After school, however, was rather epyk, as I went to see my utterly favorite and extremely amazing Language Arts teacher from last year, Mrs. Pez (if you're reading this, I apologize for the slightly uncreative name.). I haven't seen her in FOREVER (i.e. 3 months), so our conversation consisted of a large number of "so yeahs"s, but it was mass awesome to see her again.
When I finally returned home, I had CHOCOLATE CAKE (yes!!!) and VEGGIE STRAWS (yes yes!!!) and WATCHED VLOGBROTHERS (yesyesyesyesyes!!!!!!)!!!!!! So all in all, it was a decent day.
Anyways, I also saw a few herds of sixlets today, which inspired me to create
THE OFFICIAL LeNERD GUIDE TO MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!
Yaaaaayyyyy!!!!
1. When walking in the halls, STAY TO THE SIDE. This will help prevent trampling, stampedes, and general chaos involving feet.
              2. DON'T PULL THE NAME SWITCH PRANK. Doing otherwise will tell your teacher that you are a havoc wreaker, which will ensure unideal seating placements, harsher punishments and a biased overall opinion of you.
                                                                  3. DON'T TRUST ANY RUMORS CONCERNING THE PERSONALITIES OF TEACHERS. They are almost never true, and teachers can totally tell if you are being all biased.
                              4. When you get to middle school, everyone will tell you to sign up for co-curricular things so you can "expand your horizons". While it is good to be in after school stuff, MAKE SURE YOUR SCHEDULE IS NOT TOO CROWDED. Seriously, if you sign up for something for every day of the week, middle school might start verging on kinda suckish for you.
                                                   5. STAY CHILL. I guess I've kinda made middle school seem like some defier of the eighth amendment, but it only seems like that if you think it is. It's totally not a big deal, so just keep calm and nerd on.

May the Force be ever in your favor.

Phase One Status: COMPLETE

Today I got a couch stuck in my car.
Behold:
Yep.
(See the cool deer picture under the couch? That's the Youngling's second-hand find.)
We eventually managed to get it out of the car with a considerably minimal amount of injuries and damages to both the car and the couch. Then it got stuck in the door. *Sigh*.
Once we finally got it up the stairs by sommersaulting it on its side, we were able to complete phase one of the 2012 LeNerd Bedroom Redesigning project:

ISN'T IT AMAZING?!?!
As you might've remembered, the couch is currently sitting exactly where my bed was, so obviously we had to move that too.

I honestly love it. It's extremely retro-y.
We also decided upon a color scheme and room theme (see what I did there? YES, I rhymed!!!). Like the couch, it's going to be retro-rocker with a tiny bit of modernism and possibly a tad steampunk. I lost on the walls; they're going to be moderny white, but I think that might end up being cooler than my ideal plan. We're also going to have neon green, pink, orange, blue/purple and black accents in various places, plus my wall of posters. YAY.
Me and Squid, while going through my excess of slightly ancient jewlery and hair things, created a new storage system for my headband collection:

The paper chain might be replaced with one that fits the color scheme a little better later on, but I adore the hanging headbands. It kind of ties a orginanized element of untidiness to the room. Can't wait until it's done.
On a seperate note, I watched the Star Wars Mahna Mahna for the 100th time today. Yay.

May the Force be ever in your favor.
